Odorant is one of the most challenging chemicals in the gas industry, and most of the risk in an odorization program sits in the field. It sits in the transfers, the pipeline conditioning, the maintenance intervals, and the equipment coming out of service. Handled poorly, those become odor complaints, environmental exposure, safety incidents, and project overruns.

MRR remains accountable for the full scope and coordinates qualified local trade partners where project conditions require them. Crews follow standardized odorant procedures on every job, with performance verified in the field, working across North America.

Pipeline Conditioning/Pickling

New steel pipe pulls odorant out of the gas stream, so a line can pass every pressure test and still fail on odor. MRR developed the engineering process behind modern pipeline conditioning and continues to refine it. MRR does not leave until your pipeline meets commissioning odor levels.

Odorant Delivery and Transfer

A proud partner of Chevron Phillips Chemical, MRR delivers to more than a thousand sites a year across North America. Our custom closed-loop trucks are built on thirty years of doing this work, engineered to keep odorant contained and deliveries odor-free.

Installation and Decommissioning

Retiring odorant equipment is a risk event, not a mechanical task. MRR handles the full scope, from odorant evacuation and containment through removal, transport, and final site verification, and can install replacement equipment in the same mobilization. You open the gates, MRR handles everything.

Arida™ Odorant Drying

Arida™ transforms wet or contaminated odorants back into usable condition, saving expensive disposal or replacement costs. It's particularly valuable for systems prone to freezing in winter, where excess moisture causes significant challenges.

Decommissioning

Using specialized procedures developed through decades of odorization experience, MRR safely decommissions aging or obsolete odorant equipment: removed, treated, and disposed of without odorant release, keeping stations audit-ready.

Odorant Delivery & Transfer

As a Chevron Phillips odorant distributor, MRR delivers, transfers, and relocates odorant with the product fully contained at every step. Safety-first procedures minimize odor, protect personnel, and keep your operational sites clean.

Odor Control Products

MRR manufactures and sells the consumables that keep odorant contained and neutralized: EZ Carb™ activated carbon filters, mercaptan spill kits, and odor control liquids — DEOmer's all-season formula and Mask-O's orange formula.

Pipeline Conditioning & Commissioning

MRR developed the engineering behind modern pipeline conditioning, compliant with CSA Z662 and B149.1. Projects are verified through MAV™ analytical validation, confirming the gas entering service is odorized to specification.

Portable Flow Generation & Combustion

Portable flow generation supplies the flow a line needs when its own system cannot, supporting inline inspection runs, commissioning, and lines not yet in service. Crews mobilize for the campaign and run to your inspection schedule.

Preventative Maintenance

Our team inspects and services odorant injection equipment, performs system calibration to ensure accurate odorant dosing, and maintains critical odorization infrastructure to support reliable, long-term system performance in the field.

Temporary Odorization & Equipment Rentals

MRR provides temporary odorization systems and specialized rental equipment for system outages, maintenance events, and facility expansions, letting operators maintain compliance and performance while infrastructure is serviced or upgraded.

Watchtower™ Remote Monitoring

Running low on odorant is a quiet compliance risk. Watchtower™ monitors tank levels remotely, scheduling refills on actual consumption, with installed equipment your team monitors or a service MRR watches, and full performance data either way.
